SaxShades was formed in 2001 by Debbie Scherer and Sarah Jobson and has existed in its current line-up since 2016. The quartet plays a wide range of music from Baroque to rock and everything in between.

Mathilda is 16 years old and from Leeds. She started to learn the flute aged 8 and currently studies with Luke O’Toole. She is the principal flute of both the City of Leeds Youth Orchestra and Opera North Youth Orchestra.

Marie Frances Brown graduated from Leeds Conservatoire with a Masters degree specialising in creative performance. Marie’s musical interests are incredibly varied including music from the baroque era, right up to the present day.

Nina Savicevic studied at St Petersburg’s Rimsky Korsakov Conservatoire and Wells Cathedral School on scholarship, before completing undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the Royal Northern College of Music under Helen Krizos.
