Saturday 1st April, 2pm
Written and illustrated by Charlotte Middleton, and performed by Topsy Turvy theatre who brought you “Christmas is cancelled, Katie saves the day”. The guinea pigs of Dandeville love munching dandelion leaves so much that slowly but surely dandelions are disappearing from all over the town. Christopher Nibble knows that crunch time has come when there is just one dandelion left – but will this plucky little guinea pig have the flower power to save the day? Written especially for children aged 2-7 (and their big people too!) and told with Topsy Turvy’s own blend of energetic storytelling, handmade puppets, original music and stunning scenery.
Suitable for ages 2-7
Monday 10th April, 10am -1pm
Inspired by our upcoming production of The Tap Dancing Mermaid, come along and learn how to make your very own kaleidoscope. Come and join in and learn how a kaleidoscope is put together, what materials you need, and create your own shapes and effects which you can then take home and test out on all your friends. You can even bring it along on Tuesday and join Marina as she watches the moon!
Suitable for ages 6+
Tuesday 11th April, 2.30pm
The Moon has got a story to tell about a tippetty-top dancer who he has been watching at night. Marina Skippett creeps out at night to tap dance on the boardwalk to the sounds of the sea. She can’t tap dance at home anymore since her evil Aunty banned it, threatening to feed Marina’s dinners to the dog! But then, one magical night, Marina meets a mysterious watery boy swimming along and her life is never the same again. With hand crafted puppets, singing and tap dancing, The Tap Dancing Mermaid is an innovative and exciting one-woman show written and directed by Tessa Bide.
Suitable for ages 3+
Wednesday 12th April, 10am – 12pm
With all the puppets that we’ve had visiting us at the Courthouse recently, we thought it was time you guys had the chance to create your own shadow puppet theatre! Come along and learn how to build your own theatre which you can design and decorate. Then decide on your puppets and put them together too. Finally watch as our workshop leader Gillian puts all the elements together to help you create your very own theatre! And the best bit of all is that you get to take your theatres home with you!
