Otley Courthouse

How is the Courthouse funded?

Most arts organisations rely on a combination of earned income and grants from Central Government, Local Government, private donations and charitable trusts.
The Courthouse is unusual in that each year we need to generate over 85% of our own income – a very high percentage  for an arts organisation and a tribute to the hard work our staff and volunteers put in week in and week out.

Our current and historic Funders and Sponsors:

The transformation of the building was made possible by generous support from:
Yorkshire Forward, Leeds City Council, Big Lottery Fund, Otley Town Partnership, Arts Council England, Heritage Lottery Fund, The Countryside Agency, The Foyle Foundation, The Garfield Weston Foundation, Otley Town Council,The Kenneth Hargreaves Trust, Sir George Martin Trust, SEED Programme, Bailey Thomas Charitable Fund, Earl of Harewood’s Charitable Settlement, The Yorkshire Bank Charitable Trust, The Emmandjay Charitable Trust, D’Oyly Carte Trust, Beatrice Laing Trust, A & S Burton Charitable Trust, and Otley Community Council.
