As lead vocalist, bassist and key creative force, founding original member Martin Turner was central to the critical and commercial success of Wishbone Ash’s most revered albums; his passionate vocal delivery, songwriting ability, and keen melodic sense being major components of the definitive Wishbone Ash sound.
The definitive 1970s line-ups of Wishbone Ash – including its trademark harmony guitars – forged a unique musical identity that would produce some of rock music’s best loved works and influence numerous successful bands, resulting in millions of album sales and concert attendances. Wishbone Ash’s name would become synonymous with high quality, guitar-driven melodic rock music.
Many decades later, Martin Turner continues to perform the band’s best loved works and the music of the classic line-ups of Wishbone Ash continues to delight audiences worldwide.
This tour commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Classic Ash album, released in May 1977. Resplendent with its distinctive Hipgnosis-designed artwork, Classic Ash was an iconic early anthology of Wishbone Ash’s classic material and served as the perfect introduction to the band’s music for many fans. Expect to hear many of the classic tracks featured on that album, together with other favourites – songs that have touched the hearts of several generations of rock music fans.
